Integrative Health (CIIS, CIMSS)

Integrative Health is an approach to healthcare that emphasizes the collaboration of conventional medicine with complementary and alternative therapies to promote optimal well-being. Rooted in a patient-centered model, it acknowledges the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit.

Integrative Health aims to address the whole person, not just isolated symptoms, by considering lifestyle factors, dietary habits, emotional well-being, and environmental influences. By combining evidence-based conventional treatments with proven complementary approaches, such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, mindfulness, and nutrition, Integrative Health seeks to provide comprehensive care tailored to individual needs, fostering a holistic path to health and healing.

Holistic Nutrition (Pacific Graduate Institute)

Holistic Nutrition is a comprehensive approach to dietary and lifestyle choices that emphasizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit in relation to overall health and well-being. Rather than focusing solely on individual nutrients or isolated dietary practices, holistic nutrition considers the entire person and their unique needs, addressing not only physical nourishment but also emotional, spiritual, and environmental factors. The goal is to achieve optimal health by promoting balance and harmony through whole, nutrient-dense foods, mindful eating practices, and lifestyle adjustments tailored to individual bio-individuality.

My approach to Holistic Nutrition is a grounded in the blending of functional and integrative nutrition with genetic, ancestral, and environmental input. This allows for a specifically unique and individualized approach to nourishing and supporting your body, mind, spirit, and soul.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine and healing originating from India. The first written books of Ayurveda are 5-6,000 years old, and no one knows how much farther back the wisdom goes before written history.

Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit word “ayus” which means life, and “veda” which means wisdom. So, a translation of Ayurveda is “the wisdom of life”.

The main purpose of Ayurveda is to facilitate balance and aid in the return to our natural state of health and wholeness. A main premise of Ayurveda is that health is not simply the absence of disease, rather, it is an ever-expanding state of greater well-being, creativity, and joy.

The main practices of Ayurveda are experiential, requiring, and hopefully inspiring, active engagement and participation. The choices made about food, sleep, relationships, daily routines, are the choices that shape the body, mind, and spirit. Ayurveda recognizes there is no such thing as a “one size fits all” prescription for health, nor are there static interventions. You are a dynamic network of multi-dimensional intelligence, influenced by and influencing everything with which you engage both internally and externally.

My Approach

I believe curiosity is one of the most powerful tools you possess for optimal well-being. When you are curious, your nervous system does some pretty amazing stuff, not least protect against depression, anxiety, and even, believe it or not, things like indigestion. The neural networking of curiosity helps manage pain, enhance immune function, and increase emotional well-being. As such I find working with individuals who are able to be curious about their road to wellness, even when they are struggling or suffering, make huge inroads towards health and healing.

It may sound like a cliche, but it is absolutely true that when you step into the role of 'student' of your own life's journey, you embark on the greatest adventure. As a facilitator, guide, teacher, and structure of support, when we work together, I get to use my expertise in ways that allow you to deepen, grow, transform, and flourish as you navigate deeper inquiry into your whole self.

My approach provides a safe and guided container for ultimate transformation. My approach does not include; conventional therapy, diagnosing, prescribing, or any other means of debilitating your own innate wisdom towards your unique well-being.

While I believe and have witnessed events of Spontaneous Transformation, the journey of wellness typically requires commitment and a gentle discipline. It takes roughly 10 weeks for neural networking to fire together and solidify into new and lasting patterns of wellness. Because of this, I ask my client/students to commit to a 10 week unfolding, with our first session free of charge to make sure the journey feels simpatico and beneficial.
